This page was taken from my sketchbook entitled "Reaching Neemrana" that tells the story of a fortuitous stay at the Neemrana Fort Palace, built in the 15th century by the descendants of famous warriors, including the most famous in India, Pritaviraj Chahuan. Once a palace it is now a hotel whose doors are adorned with spikes to keep elephants from invading hordes at bay. Nowadays dozens of tourists pass through those gates unhindered - even welcomed - by the guard dressed in medieval attire and with no weapon but his registry book and pen.
